Mphasis an EDS company or HP company
Here the confusion arrives. I got placed in Mphasis an EDS company. Here is a very short story about the company. Mphasis was started by Mr. Jerry rao cousin of Infosys Narayanamoorthy. EDS bought Mphasis. Thus the name Mphasis an EDS company. I was recruited in Mphasis only and now HP has bought EDS. Thus the name EDS an HP company. Now the employees in Mphasis thought there were employed in Mphasis first and then thought they were working in EDS and now there is a confusion Whether there will be any impact on Mphasis. Whatsoever Mphasis an EDS company is the emerging as a worlds best IT company. I think may be it will change to Mphasis an EDS company an HP company. Huh, The longest name i ever read. Cool. I am going to be a part of it. but when? I heard i will be called only by December, that is too far from now. Really too bad to hear. Should i wait for this world’s top 2nd company or search another job with the little freshers knowledge i have. With lot of doubts still waiting for the offer letter and the date of join with an excitement. I don’t mind how tough the training is and i am sure and have the confidence that i can give my best and get a position in company.

Globally EDS would be called as EDS an Hp Company. you can very well wait for the offer. Good luck!!!!

I have similar doubts. Recently I’m offered by MphasiS, and will be joining them soon.
How does the acquisition going act on MphasiS employees? Will they be considered as HP employees, and will be applied HP’s policies on them later?
And…suppose a Mphasis employee tries to work directly with HP (quit Mphasis and get an offer from HP), will he be allowed according to their contract/policies?

Hi Ram, for now what venkatesh said was correct, we have no clue about Mphy turning into HP.
Vivek, At present no one has clear idea about Mphy-Hp merger. We have to wait and watch.
Some dvisions of HP India and Mphasis will merget to be called EDS an HP company India. Thats what I ment. HP india will exist.
If EDS would not have bought, Mphasis would now be nowhere ! Thats a fact.
Hari and Vivek… You can join Mphasis without hesitation. But you will be working for EDS an HP company.

You must not wait for the call, you just call the HR help desk until they attend your call. Else the problem is for you. So, Dont wait for call, just call them up now.

Now CEO Jaya is gone and a new guy from HP will be coming in. Hope he brings up some good policies into EDS an HP company India. I wish to see the name changed to EDS. It realy hurted some of us to see the name removed from the building and changed ..

Waiting is worth. Mphasis is in good phase than any other company in India. What else do you think is a good company? You mean Satyam? TCS?

We can’t expect good policies from HP. I wish the existing policies not to be removed :)
The confusion is resident within MphasiS Employees. No one really knows what’s in store for all of them. IT and ITO business are heavily dependent on EDS and HP. MphasiS can survive only on the business brought in to these two lines of business. BPO business is completely shaky and lot of senior guys are leaving the business for the lack of leadership and Guidance
Jeya Kumar’s departure was evident as per the internal sources and Ayyar’s entry was a well planned move by HP. HP never takes subsidaries seriously. they will either take a complete take over or sale it off. BPO business is likely to be hived off. ITO business is lead by a solid business leader who is poised to make something big. IT development is already run by an Ex-HP GDAS employeee so it should not create any challenges. BPO has no clarity in moving forward.
Hi I am currently working with IBM and got an offer letter from Mphasis. I have a doubt; is it a good time to switch over the job in this recession period. I am affraid of moving from stable co to a company which works with EDS. I need to change the job since the offer i am getting from mphasis is having a profile which i like and love to work upon.

Anyways, Which tower you are going to join? whether it is ADU or ITO? If it is ITO, you can definitely join. I have no idea about ADU. If you ask me, working here in EDS is great.

I am working with IBM since last 5 years and now switching the job makes me little worried (that to in recession). i will be joining ITO but the only reason for asking this question here is that i dont want to switch the job in 1 or 2 years and make my career / resume in worst situations. Once again thanks for your helpful comments. BTW what is ADU Stands for?? Also wat is the attrition rate in ITO section (any idea).
Anjali, You are always welcome. 5 Yrs in IBM sounds great. In EDS, ADU means Application development unit. It is programming side.
I have no idea about attrition rate in ITO. Must be less i guess. I wish you make firm decision in switching over, cos there is no looking back once you decide and join.
EDS has employees who have fake experienced certificates.One of my friends was losing his job in so many companies(minimum 20 where ever he joined,he lost his job within 1 or 2 months).At last he got job in EDS.He has been enjoying good pay in EDS for the past two years.NO EXPERIENCE CHECKING whether the certificates are real or fake.

WIthout EDS MphasiS would have not got these many projects I agree. but if EDS had not bought MphasiS, it wud have remained as a small company in india without any confusions. It is becoz EDS bought MPhasiS they recruited so many ppl as they getting projects from EDS. It is not like that MphasiS wil only survive if it s bought by EDS else not. I am passionate bout EDS, but while flaunting about one company we shud take care that we are not degrading another Company. Go back and see MphasiS history it is the fastest growing company in India. In this Short Span of time They grown very well their revenues are excellent. I agree before EDS acquistition MphasiS is very small(but don forget it was Strong) that time too. And u know the hike and package in MphasiS. One of my old seniors joined in 2001 and they have been offered 2.4 that time itself(2001), They wil give good hike and most profitable company.
Today Mphasis is doing good 99% becoz of EDS I agree. BUt I wanted to convey that even if it is not EDS chiled it wud have survived , what guys what I say is correct na??
I think HP is observing, throught its appointee Ganesh Aiyyar, and if things progress well, they may aquire 100%. I agree, that ITO is better placed than BPO. Since global recession is on, HP may wait and hold back their cash rather than purchase MphasiS immediately. In any case with 60% holding they can do whatever they want.But unless they sale off or buy 100% the confusion in the mind of employees will remain.

I have selected for mphasis an EDS company. Noe I am still wating for the offer letter. The bHR is telling me that, we wl get the offer letters on the induction date. Before that i ahve to regign the current company. Can I go ahead? with this. Is there any security is there? I am getting confused………………….. :(
MPSIS is not part of HP yet, I am working for HP, we had a client interview from MPSIS on 3/3/09, HR Manager asked to resign HP first and then join MPSIS, it will not be part of HP, it remains an EDS company (IN Big Picture an HP Company).

Its not like that if they ask you to resign HP and join MPhasiS, MphasiS wil not be a part of HP. it has to go throughsome procedures.
For example if you r an indian employee and going onsite you wil have to resign in India and have to join on site. Similarly after returning from on site u have to resign that job and u have to join ur branch in India
Legally HP dint acquire MphasiS stakes. Still it is untocuhed from EDS so thats the reason. In one go they cant call EDS employees as HP employees
HP software division will be called as EDS TSG group. So over a period of time if anybody joind from HP to EDS their properties will show Contractor/vendor inside EDS and they wil be in HP payroll. Down the line then it wil be integrated to HP….. it takes time. But I am sure MphasiS wil be a part of HP but I am not sure how they wil call it in India. BEcoz MphasiS is representing EDS India revenue legally and one day all wil go in to EDS, an HP or HP India

i got campus placement in mphasis but i didn’t got offer letter yet..as i am a fresher i don’t have any idea whether they give offer letter or not and if yes then when???
Now as they are taking EDS ID cards back and even Mphasis an EDS company ID card back, and giving only MphasiS ID card, I believe finally all employees working for EDS are now working for MphasiS and not for MphasiS an EDS or EDS an HP company.
Also I have Heard that this year 2009 there will be no Appraisals, Employees who had joined last year and waiting for appraisal have to wait for one more year. Also for employees who had there appraisal in year 2008 got hike of only 5%- 8%. Ever since MphasiS name is Associated with the company EDS, its getting worst to work here. there is somuch cost cutting in each and every thing that employee has to suffer. Looking for a job outside MphasiS don’t want to wait for an year more to get a hike of Rs 500-1000 Per month.

I am not giving any wrong info my freind you can check, The new ID card clearly says MphasiS and not Mphasis an EDS also you can check the recent email, wherein you have to collect the new MphasiS ID cards.

it is good if you would like to continue with mphasis as the platform they work on over here is exclusively for eds which other comapnies dont support so experiance on a particular domain might not count else where.

Mphasis, EDS are an HP company may be this will be clear from July 2009 onwards or befor that till that ID card any other company policy will not change all remains same. Once HP take full control they wll change the id card offer letter for Mphasis should be EDS an HP company thats it. And also HP paycuts not to affect most ex-EDS staff u can mail us at info@reuters.com

To existing ones, coming ones, to be coming and in confustion ones.
Nobody is clear about the current Policy here. Atleast it takes end of this year to be setteled well either MphasiS an EDS or HP India.

It’s not the matter good or bad time to join in MphasiS as it’s Recession time but if your current position is good then be there otherwise switch to MphasiS.

I am in the process of interview with Mphasis an EDS company. I have overall 5 years of experience in SharePoint. I am opting for Pune location. I would like to know how the company is. How it is different from EDS and HP? Is in india all the EDS employees and Mphasis employees are treated as same and have the same policies and payroll everything? Do EDS still have different hiring for their projects and Mphasis do separately? And what is the vision of Mphasis and by whom they are going to be driven by HP or would be working as an individual entity under HP? And recently have heard EDS has got few big engagements. So those projects would be run by Mphasis or EDS. And do EDS have any separate office in India or employees? Is there any separate office for EDS and Mphasis in Pune? And how secure is to work with Mphasis and how is the career growth path?

Its Gupta prasad Panda, Btech IT and 2009 passout, recruited in MphasiS on Apr-08. It was a pleasure to get thru the interview and concluded that its good company. But i dont knw Y all the freshers have lots of Doubts regarding the DOJ.. its a global recession time over the world. We as freshers should wait till mid October and den take any action regarding joining… I knw , getting to a company, being a fresher is quite excited,but we need to keep up our spirit and zeal which continues till we join. Hence, lets hope for the best and I knw Mphasis, an EDS firm will surely not dissappoint us by extending the DOJ.

Hey friends…Today Mphasis became Mphasis an HP company according to an official communication. However Mphasis will still continue to work independently and in near future HP does not have any plans of delisting Mphasis in India.
The name change is only on a business perspective. We were also requested to change the signature and letterheads which earlier read as Mphasis an EDS company.
Today Mpahsis renamed again!!!
MphasiS an HP Company.
The worst part of Mphasis is the HR. We want Mphasis to be delisted just because we will get a good HR from HP. Hope this happens soon.
‘Mphasis a HP company’ is one of the best indian company to work with. I would say it is as good as working with IBM or HP or any other top brand. Every company has their own share of problems with respect to HR or internal administration problems, what is important is grabbing the right opertunity at right time and start working hard to establish in the industry, in due time we will find more opertunities once we gain experiance. Its a worst company. I’m with mphasis for the last two years, intially it was good but after hp merger it become a worst employer.
No hikes, no proper bonuses.. promised to give good bonus but did not make it..
Recession is almost over all other companies like infy, wipro, tcs started to give bonus, but this company never minds those…
Its making good revenues but not sharing the benetis with its employee..

I would like to tell you, there BPO sector is doing bad in terms of all the processes they have. They now have only 2 Mphasis processes. Rest all is the EDS processes and they are all doing bad in terms of cost, trainings, migrations not getting stabilized. If you are looking to join their BPO, sector dont do it. Instead join some smaller ventures where you have good job security. Even the emerging domestic BPOs are doing well compared to them.

1. What about CAB facility for 24×7 ITO division?
2. What about the shift allowance (is there night shift and late evening shift allowances available?) ?
3. I heard that Mphasis experiences will not acceptable for Microsoft (from another blog) if yes can anyone let me know why?
If above mentioned questions are confusing i can give you a small scenario that i am leaving Wipro Technology and joining Mphasis in as MIIS (Microsoft Identity Integration Server) person, as this is a Microsoft product, so I am little bit worried about the same.

Hi, I am the former Employee of Mphasis EDS Company. I joined on 31st July2008. I left the job on 27 sept2009. I spent a long time with Mphasis. But having left the job it’s a big toruble to get my own salary. I was pre seperated on 27 Aug that’s why 1 sep salary not credited & next sep month salary was also not credited on 1 oct.

Hi,I got placed in MphasiS on 12th feb 2010. The HR intimated me that i’ll be getting the offer letter in a week. But till now i have not got any offer letter from the company. They intimated through my college that i have got selected in MphasiS.
I called MphasiS,Bangalore and they said since there is a merging work going on between HP-MphasiS, they will send the offer letter after the HP recruitment is over.

Mphasis is ‘world’s top 2nd company’ – since when? It is not even Bangalore’s 2nd topmost company, let alone India or World. I think u guys have no idea at all what you are talking about.
Anyways, my experience says that if you are in IBM, Accenture, Cap Gemini, TCS, Infosys, Wipro, Cognizant, Tech Mahindra, or any other top 10 firms in India, then you will definitely not like Mphasis due to complete lack of processes, quality of work and unprofessionalism. If you are working in an unknown mediocre company, then it doesnt really matter if you switch to another unknown mediocre company – so mphasis or any other should not make a difference.

Does any body know what application is used in Mphasis? I was working there but I am not able to recollect what kind of applications were used…I just need to know for interview purposes. I was working for aurora.

hello I have been placed by Mphasis in Apr 2010. Is it a good company .The salary for us is just 2 lacs.This is very less when compared to even some of the small companies around.Why is it so.?? When will the joining dates of 2010 batch be.???

Hi I attended Mphasis interview last week saturday in chennai , and i got selected in both technical and hr round,Hr person said me he will roll out the offer letter before friday. But im yet to get it, anyone have any idea on how long they take to release offer letter? Looks like again this week they are conducting interviews again. Please help me about duratio theuy takke to release offers

The latest is that
EDS holds 60.61% in MphasiS and is in talks to buy a further 4.35% from Baring India Private Equity.
Baring has been cutting its stake in MphasiS for quite a while now. Its stake is likely to come down from 8.62% to 4.27%.
The MphasiS deal is likely to be closed at the current market price by September 2010.
the way things are going on in the company and the top mgmt has already left the company is in a big mess…it may be the repeat of compaq-digitalsoft story….
